The 14th “Liszt Memorial Prizes” Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition, organized by the Hong Kong International Musician Association, officially commenced in October 2023.
The competition spans across the globe, with agreements already signed in over 100 cities. Preliminary rounds are expected to take place in early 2024. The Finals will be held in Hong Kong, China, from July 22 to 26, 2024.
The organizing committee of this competition cordially invites overseas institutions, as well as artistic training centers and cultural media companies from all provinces and major cities in China, to host local preliminary events. This is an opportunity to collectively create a magnificent chapter in the world of music, providing a stage for young musicians to showcase their talents and ignite their passion for music.
AAF Member Competitions
Due to its professional and international nature, the “Liszt Memorial Prizes” International Piano Open Competition became a member of the Alink-Argerich Foundation (AAF) in 2016.
This foundation was co-founded by the piano competition critic Gustav Alink and the renowned pianist Martha Argerich. It is a global non-profit organization that oversees international piano competitions.
Only a select few of the world’s major authoritative international piano competitions are eligible for certification by this foundation.
Training Qualifications UK
It’s the world’s first piano competition certified by Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) under Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation).
TQUK’s certifications are recognized in over 160 countries and regions globally and provide a solid foundation for further education and assistance in securing offers from renowned institutions both domestically and internationally.
Contestants who achieve third place or higher can directly apply for TQUK qualification certificates.

Hong Kong International Musician Association is abbreviated as HK.IMA. Since its establishment in 2010, it has been focusing on international art communication and artistic level qualification for over a decade.
We are committed to offering an international stage for musicians from around the world to communicate and develop further, making a modest contribution to the advancement of the global music industry.

The quality of the preliminary rounds of the “Liszt Memorial Prizes” Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition continues to improve in terms of participant numbers, composition of the jury members, venue, and promotional scale. It has become a significant highlight in cultural events worldwide.
