Katarzyna Borek, Polish pianist, Warner Classics assigned record artist, foreign expert of the Piano Department of the School of Arts, Guangzhou Foreign Studies University (2019-2022). She studied in “Frederic Chopin” College of Music in Gdańsk, Poland, the “Felix Nowowiejski” Conservatory of Music in Bydgoszcz, in the piano class of a well known professor Katarzyna Popowa – Zydroń (President of the Jury of the Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland) and Royal Flemish Conservatory of Music in Brussels (Belgium) under the guidance of the famous American pianist and professor Daniel Blumenthal. In addition, she has participated in master classes and workshops with many distinguished pianists, such as: Menahem Pressler, Dominique Merlet, Evgeny Moguilevsky, Lee Kum-Sing, Andrzej Jasinski, Regina Smendzianka, Alexei Nasedkin, Daniel Pollack, Hans Leygraf, Aglica Genova and Liuben Dimitrov (specialization – Piano Duo in Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Hannover/ Germany).

Katarzyna Berek is one of the leading Polish musicians, pianists, organisers and artistic directors of many creative projects.
She has performed at many international festivals including the International “Chopin Open” Festival at the National Opera Hall in Warsaw, International “Paderewski in Memoriam” Festival in Warsaw, Europhony Music Festival in Bucharest, International Ferruccio Busoni Music Festival in Bolzano (Italy), International Chamber Music Festival in Beijing, World Expo in Shanghai (Europe Square Outdoor stage), International Changning Piano Festival in Shanghai, Guangzhou Outdoor Arts Festival (China). She use to be a soloist and member of chamber music ensembles in Europe (Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Luxemburg, Italy, Croatia, Slovakia, Russia, Ukraine, Romania), Asia (China, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam) and and Latin America (Chile, Peru, Cuba). The audience listened to her concerts in many venues, including: National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw, the Frederic Chopin Museum in Warsaw, Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, Polish Academy of Science in Paris, Polish Cultural Institute in Wienna, Polish Institute in Beijing, Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, Beijing Poly Theatre, Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, Shanghai Changning Culture & Art Center, Peking University Centennial Hall, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Hanoi Opera House, National Museum of Singapore, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, Symphony Stage of the Botanic Gardens in Singapore.
She has also received many prestigious awards, including the 1995 Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition in Göttingen, Germany, International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Moscow in 1996, National Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland in 1998, Ignacy Jan Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz, Poland in 1998. In 2005 he was a finalist in the Busoni International Piano Competition in Italy, which is recognized as one of the most important piano competitions worldwide. In addition to music, she has received numerous awards in the field of culture, including the “Young Poland 2010” from the Polish Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
